The National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO) is collecting information on new science and technologies that will lead to improvement of clinical outcomes in patients cared for by EMS personnel. The purpose of this assessment is to identify practice gaps between the 2007 National EMS Scope of Practice Model (SoPM), emerging science, current EMS practice, and EMS patient care needs. To be considered by the Subject Matter Expert Panel, skills and practices must be able to demonstrate an improvement of patient outcomes.

To assist your response to this assessment, participants are encouraged to download and print a compendium of skills from the 2007 Model:  National SoPM Skill Comparison. 

 

 

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will host a meeting at DOT Headquarters in Washington, DC on June 1 and 2, 2017, . This meeting represents the first gathering of the subject matter expert panel for the revision project related to the 2007 National EMS Scope of Practice Model (SoPM.) The goal of this meeting is to review the findings of a systematic review of literature and initiate discussion on revising the Model. Time will be set aside in the meeting to accept comments from the registered attendees.
 
Due to space limitations, attendance at the meeting is limited to invited participants and those who register in advance. All attendees must bring government issued identification to gain admittance to the DOT Building. Those who do not register in advance may not be able to attend because of limited space in the DOT Conference Center. The meeting agenda will be sent to registered participants via email as soon as it becomes available.
