What is NAEMSE?
The National Association of EMS Educators is a 501(c) non profit educational association that has been incorporated since 1995. It is a professional membership organization that is made up of over 3,000 EMS educators, both nationally and internationally, that include Instructors, Program Directors, Deans, Training Officers, EMS Physicians, EMS Nurses and EMS State Officials. It is governed by a board of directors and the home office headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. The staff of NAEMSE is made up of an Executive Director, Business Manager, Education Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, Project Coordinator and Communications Coordinator.
How much does it cost to become a member?
Domestic membership rate to receive NAEMSE publications electronically or via U.S. Postal Service is $90/year. International membership rate to receive NAEMSE publications electronically or via U.S. Postal Service is $95/year. CLICK HERE TO JOIN!
How do I renew my NAEMSE Membership?
NAEMSE will send out a paper invoice to you, two months before your renewal month. This will be followed by two more electronic invoices the month before and the month of your renewal. You can pay these invoices via check or by calling us with a credit card at 412-343-4775 ext 23. We also send out a reminder 90 days before and 1 day before your membership is due!
You can also access your invoice online by going to the Manage Profile (link) page and selecting "Invoices" under Invoicing, Payments, and History. Payments online can only be made through PayPal.
What are the benefits to becoming a member of NAEMSE?
A major and very beneficial membership benefit is access to the Trading Post. The Trading Post is where you can obtain (download) and contribute (upload) digitized educational resources such as: Presentations (including PowerPoint slide shows), photographs, graphs and other images to use in your EMS classes. It is the equivalent of having an EMS educational library at your fingertips. Currently the inventory of the Trading Post is over 5,000 resources. Other benefits are delivery of our Educator Update publication which is issued 4 times a year. Educator Update is the magazine of EMS Educators. It's filled with informative articles, this magazine will be not only a value to you, but to your students as well. What is the NAEMSE Instructor Course?
The NAEMSE instructor course has been developed by NAEMSE for those educators who want to achieve the entry level knowledge of the Department of Transportation/NHTSA 2002 educational guidelines. This course will provide the instructor with tools and resources that can assist them to teach to the best of their ability. The content of this course aligns the NAEMSE developed modules with the curriculum objectives of the 2002 National Guidelines, and has been designed to provide a basic introduction of concepts for the beginning EMS educator. What is the NAEMSE Implementation of the National EMS Education Standards Workshop?
The NAEMSE workshop for the Implementation of the National EMS Education Standards is designed to provide a framework upon which EMS Educators will build curricula and assessment based on the National EMS Education Standards. The transition to standards based education is a process that begins with a clear understanding of what education standards are and how to develop benchmarks upon which curricula is designed and competency assessment measures are performed.

What is Symposium?
Symposium is an event that is held each year in different cities around the country. It is an opportunity for EMS Educators to come together and net-work with other EMS educators. Symposium consists of educational pre-conferences, post-conference, general sessions and break-out sessions that are presented to help the educator better their teaching skills and take those new ideas back to the classroom. It also gives attendees the chance to visit the trade show were EMS exhibitors will give you face to face information regarding their products. I have a product that I would like to exhibit at Symposium. How do I do that?
NAEMSE welcomes any exhibitor that wishes to exhibit their product at the yearly Symposium. What is important to know is that space at our Symposium will give you access to EMS educators who are not only influential to the thousands of students that they instruct, but also have the purchasing power to approve buying of products they feel will benefit their teaching skills. We hope you would! NAEMSE is always looking for committee members to make NAEMSE a bigger, stronger and more viable organization. NAEMSE has dozens of committees that will fit your interest. There is a committee interest form that can be found on committees. Fill it out and send it in and we look forward to your input with whatever committee you choose.
What is EMS Certification Services?
National Emergency Medical Services Educators Certification (NEMSEC) is a non-profit 501 ( c ) organization that is setting the standard for EMS Educators. Governed by a board of directors, NEMSEC has come up with a standardized exam designed to define the line between novice and expert level EMS Educators. Upon passing this exam, you will be acknowledged as a Nationally Certified EMS Educator - N.C.E.E. Visit www.nemsec.org for more information.
