Webinar Description:

The Covid-19 Pandemic pushed distance learning and online education to the forefront of EMS Education. As educators, we faced challenges of closed campuses that left current students in limbo. Even the National Registry of EMTs made exception to recertification requirements to allow for more online education hours. Students have found online courses appealing as they offer a source of education readily available at their home or work. Courses are accessible day and night at the student’s own schedule and pace.

However, the reality of online courses may not be the same for the instructor. The availability of online classes often misleads a student to desire immediate feedback and an instantly available instructor. How do we as instructors manage online courses effectively with regards to student expectations? How do we “disconnect the online course?” The webinar explores practices for managing the instructor-student relationship within the online course.
